Who Should Take Over Hosting Duties on ‘The Voice’ After Carson Daly?

Carson Daly in 'The Voice' Finale

Since its premiere in 2011, Carson Daly has been the one constant of The Voice, serving as host for every season so far. However, if Daly ever decides to step down, who could potentially take over the reins? Here are some contenders that could continue The Voice legacy as the next host.

Who Should Take Over Hosting The Voice?

Nick Jonas

This Jonas Brother seems tailor-made to be The Voice host. He was a popular coach on the show for multiple seasons, so he’s very familiar with the format and mechanics. His experience as a coach gives him insight into how contestants feel during different rounds.

Plus, Jonas radiates enthusiasm whenever he’s on camera. As a young musician himself, he would bring a passionate energy while guiding contestants on their journeys. Jonas could easily banter with coaches and connect with contestants of all ages.

Wayne Brady

Comedian and television personality Wayne Brady is no stranger to hosting duties. He led his own talk show and game shows like Let’s Make a Deal. Brady certainly has the mix of humor, charm, and showmanship needed to MC a big production like The Voice.

Beyond his hosting credentials, Brady is also a talented singer, dancer, and improviser. As a fresh face for viewers, Brady might breathe new life into the long-running show. His varied talents make him someone who could put his own stamp on the role.

Ryan Seacrest

As the host of American Idol for many years, Ryan Seacrest is no stranger to hosting a big singing competition show. He has the experience to guide all the moving parts of a live episode smoothly. However, after being announced as the next host for Wheel of Fortune and a new season of Idol is underway, the chances of him hosting another major TV show are slim.

Chrissy Teigen

Model Chrissy Teigen displays quick wit and clever humor as a host on shows like Lip Sync Battle. As the wife of singer and The Voice coach Legend, she also has inside music industry knowledge.

Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon already hosts his own late night talk show, but he may have time to add The Voice hosting duties as well. Fallon’s affable comedic style would lend itself nicely to a show like The Voice.

He’s also a skilled musician and impersonator who could provide meaningful critiques on performances. Fallon could even show off some of his musical talent in fun segments with coaches or contestants.

The Next Host Will Have Big Shoes to Fill

Regardless of who eventually takes the reins, Daly will leave enormous shoes to fill on The Voice. He’s been the cool, quick-witted guide through every episode and every twist and turn.

It will likely take the new host some time to get comfortable in the role and develop rapport with coaches and the audience. Daly’s experience and authority as host can’t be easily replicated. However, any of these contenders could potentially rise to the challenge of ushering in a new era of The Voice.
