Who is Reba McEntire’s Boyfriend Rex Linn?

Reba McEntire may be busy creating music and coaching on The Voice, but she’s not one to leave her love life behind. The country music legend is currently in a healthy and happy relationship with boyfriend Rex Linn.
Now that McEntire has proven to be an interesting addition to The Voice, it’s natural for fans to get more interested in her personal life. With that, here’s a everything you need to know about her and her beau.
Reba McEntire, Rex Linn Have Known Each Other Since 1991
Before they began dating, the two first worked together in 1991 for the Kenny Rogers movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. According to McEntire, they’ve kept in contact over the years, since they both know the same people.
“So it was just like good friends getting back together and having dinner,” she said. “Then we started texting and talking on the telephone and getting to know each other better during the quarantine.”
McEntire and Linn decided to date during the pandemic, after he helped her cope with the loss of her mother. As per the Not That Fancy author, Linn served as her saving grace during the hard time.
“When you have somebody to share the grief with, when you have somebody to share the fun [and] the sad times, it’s always so much better,” she said.
In October 2020, McEntire revealed that she and Linn were dating during an episode of her podcast Living & Learning. The singer described Linn as “very interesting, very funny [and] very smart.”
“Whatever happens in the future, we’re very stable,” she said. “I look forward to having more things to look forward to.”
According to McEntire, it’s been good to have a person to talk to and laugh with. She then added that Linn is very into her music, the same thing as she’s very into his career. In November 2020, the couple made their red carpet debut at the CMA Awards.
Do They Have Plans of Getting Married?
McEntire was previously married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987. In 1989, she tied the knot to music manager Narvel Blackstock. However, their relationship ended in 2015. The country songstress shares son Shelby with Blackstock.
In October 2021, the singer opened up about the possibility of her marrying Linn.
“We’ve talked about it and giggled about it,” she said. “We thought, ‘Man, if we ever did have a ceremony, we would have to have a 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 6 o’clock and an 8 o’clock because we have so many friends, acquaintances and family.'”
That same month, McEntire and Linn discussed their “very special relationship” on one episode of her podcast. As stated by the “I’m A Survivor” singer, it was great getting to know each other “without any physical aspect to it at all.”
In 2022, Linn joined McEntire on season three of Big Sky as her character’s husband. At the time, they were nearly three years into the relationship.
“To play husband and wife, it’s natural for us. Rex and I rehearse all the time to make sure that when we step on that set, we’re not wasting anybody’s time. We’re professionals,” she said.
At present, we don’t have a clear answer whether the two will be tying the knot ever. However, one thing is for sure: that McEntire and Linn have pretty much been “inseparable.”
