Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Masked Dancer is about to become your new guilty pleasure. The Fox spinoff of The Masked Singer promises new exciting twists and big celebrity reveals with a brand new panel of judges. Keep reading to find out all of the details we know so far about the show and how to watch the big premiere.
What To Expect From ‘The Masked Dancer’
The Masked Dancer will be similar to The Masked Singer with 10 celebrities wearing extravagant costumes with the world trying to guess who is underneath the mask. Each week, the contestants will put on a dance routine in different styles after clue packages reveal small details about them. After each performance, in a new shocking twist, the celebrities will each say one word in their normal unaltered voice. This is not done on The Masked Singer but will be a fun surprise on The Masked Dancer.
The contestants range from The Cotton Candy to The Zebra and just based on previews alone, each of the contestants is bringing something unique to the stage. The judging panel Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, Ken Jeong and Ashley Tisdale will use the clues and try and guess the identity of the contestants. One contestant will be unmasked each week and only one will win. Actor Craig Robinson serves as host.

Pay attention to the clue packages, costumes, choreography and set design because there are going to be clues everywhere. “You have to really depend on the clues. You can’t just hear a voice and go, ‘I’m familiar with that voice.’ You can’t say, ‘I’m familiar with that step,’ from someone who does it,” Paula said in an interview.
The dancers also had the option about whether or not they want to dance in a group, with a partner or solo. The partners and group dancers are not celebrities, but trained dancers in costumes to help out the celebrities and elevate their routines.
