First Look At ‘The Masked Dancer’ Reveals New Epic Twist & Hidden Clues [VIDEO]
The premiere of The Masked Dancer is only a few days away and the show just released a trailer full of surprises. In the shows first season judges Ken Jeong, Ashley Tisdale, Paula Abdul and Brian Austin Green will try and figure out which dancing celebrities are under the mask. Check out this sneak peek of the show hosted by comedian Craig Robinson.
‘The Masked Dancer’ Trailer Is Full Of Clues About The Celebrities Identities
The trailer is full of action and colorful costumes. We see small glimpses of each of the 10 competitors dancing with partners or having solo moments. From the looks of it, The Cotton Candy is going to provide everyone with some stiff competition as she did a stunning leg extension. Just based on the quick previews, we are confident that a trained dancer or gymnast is under the mask and we will get to see if the judges can figure it out for themselves.
In another part of the trailer, The Tulip puts on a very flashy performance that has all of the judges making some bold guesses. “That is the TikTok sign” Ashley exclaims as the camera pans to The Tulip making a very familiar symbol with her arms.
Next up in the video, The Hammerhead rips off his shirt to reveal some muscles. “Look how athletic he is,” Paula says. The Hammerhead is rocking a basketball jersey along with a necklace that says “hammer time.” In the preview, he does the worm and flexes his fake exaggerated muscles. Words flash over the screen to remind people that each of the dancer’s costumes reveals some hidden clues about the celebrities under the masks. He could very well be an athlete.
The Show Will Have One Major Twist After Each Performance
The Masked Dancer is a spinoff of the very successful Fox show The Masked Singer. But there is one major twist that separates both of the shows. Typically on The Masked Singer, contestants’ voices are disguised in the clue packages and when they talk to the judges.
On The Masked Dancer, contestants will say one word in their regular unaltered voice. This will provide the judges with a major clue about their identity. The one word that they say will relate to who they are. In the trailer, The Moth says the word “inspired” in her real voice and all of the judges lean in to try and figure out which celebrity could be under the mask.
This leads to Ken saying he knows exactly who it is. But knowing Ken, his guess is probably so far off from who it actually is underneath that mask. Plus recently on season four of The Masked Singer, he demonstrated that it was possible for his guesses to get even more bizarre.
The Masked Dancer premieres on Fox on December 27 at 8PM EST.
