The Voice Portugal coach Aurea decided to try out a blind audition of her own in 2016. However, she was surprised by the people who turned around for her performance, as they were not the co-stars she was used to.
The singer delivered a powerhouse performance that turned all four chairs. Check it out below, and read on to find out how her fellow coaches surprised her after the audition.
‘The Voice Portugal’ Coach Auditions For The Show
For her blind audition, Aurea performed “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars. However, it wasn’t the usual coaches sitting in the big red chairs. This time, they’d been replaced by child lookalikes.
There was even a little version of Aurea herself sitting in the chair listening to the performance. The kids did a great job emulating their grown-up counterparts, and appeared to really be considering whether they liked the audition.

Meanwhile, the real coaches watched from backstage while Aurea performed, smiling excitedly as the kids prepared to turn around. It took them quite a while, but they all ended up turning at the same time toward the end of the song.
When Aurea saw who was sitting in the chairs, she smiled. After hitting the last note, she started laughing. The coaches backstage couldn’t contain their laughter over the prank either.
Who Is Aurea?
Aurea is a soul singer who debuted in 2008 with a single called “Okay Alright.” She’s released four studio albums since 2010, and has won two MTV Europe Music Awards. Aurea has been a coach on The Voice Portugal since 2015.

Commenters on the YouTube video of Aurea’s audition remarked on how great she sounded. “No wonder she is one of the judges! That blonde can sing!” wrote one person in the comments.
“When I watched clips of The Voice Portugal, I have to admit, I didn’t think she could sing that well,” another wrote, “but BITCH, she can SAAANG. Her VOICE oh my lord I am shook bitch damn.”
