Fernando Daniel Dominated ‘The Voice Portugal’
Fernando belted out “When We Were Young” on The Voice Portugal and immediately had everyone hooked. It took about three seconds for two of the coaches to hit their buttons and turn their chairs. A third coach soon followed because Fernando’s ability to carry such an incredible tune was unmatched. Finally, the fourth coach turned his chair making this a remarkable four-chair turn.
He chose to be on coach Mickael Carreira’s team. This proved to be a wise choice as the pair were able to bond and work very well together. This propelled him forward in the competition with flying colors week after week. His cover of “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn during the Tira-Teimas stage in the competition also received acclaim and has over 21 million views. This performance was inspired by Calum Scott who first went viral singing the song on ‘BGT.’
After securing a place in the finals, it was clear that Fernando was the frontrunner of the competition. He ended up winning The Voice Portugal in 2016.
