Rita Ora has been a coach on The Voice UK, but in 2017 she decided to head over to Germany’s version of the show. But Rita wasn’t a coach or a mentor. Instead, she actually performed a blind audition.
Rita even sang her own song for the performance! Do you think the coaches recognized her? Check out Rita’s blind audition below, and read on to find out if she turned all four chairs with her voice.

“Being on the other side, it’s amazing to see how the contestants take on pressure, because it’s a tricky thing to do,” Rita said before her audition. “So I’m really nervous. I really hope that the coaches turn around. Because what if they don’t?”

Rita stepped onto the stage wearing a red fringe outfit with matching boots. She performed her track “Your Song.” The coaches seemed to enjoy it from the very beginning, and when Rita got to the chorus, they all hit their buttons to turn for her.
They looked surprised — and maybe a little bit confused — when they saw her on stage. When the performance was over, they gave her a standing ovation. Rita introduced herself as “a 26-year-old aspiring musician from London.”
What Did The Coaches Think Of Rita’s Audition?
Coach Mark Forster marveled that Rita’s performance “sounded almost like the original.” When she confirmed that she was, indeed, Rita Ora, Yvonne Catterfeld couldn’t believe it.
“Okay, you’re kidding us,” she said. “Just let me know, are you a double, or…?” Rita replied that she wasn’t a double, saying, “It’s really me. I thought I’d come over here to crash the blind auditions.”

Coach Smudo joked that he thought Rita could have won a Rita Ora lookalike contest. He added that it was an “honor” to have her there. Mark asked if she actually wanted to join one of their teams.
Rita told them she wanted to be a guest coach on one of the teams in the future. She said it was a “tough decision” but chose to work with Mark’s team. She returned later in the season and performed her song “Anywhere” with runner-up Benedikt Köstler.
