WATCH ‘Fool Us’ Magicians Penn & Teller Elevate the Classic Donut, Ribbon Trick

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Superstar magicians Penn and Teller recently opened up about being the longest-running headliners in Las Vegas and hosting the ageless magic show on TV, Fool Us. They also showed off their own added twist to the casual classic donut and ribbon trick.
Penn & Teller Impress with Their Improved Donut, Ribbon Magic Trick
In their latest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the dynamic duo took the time to do their prepared magic trick. Calling it the “donut on the ribbon trick,” they made Fallon their assistant, flawlessly confusing the talk show host through their magic.
The two first threaded the donut to a ribbon and asked Fallon to hold both ends of the latter. This move, was supposed to practically secure the donuts from getting off the ribbon. Yet, using a towel, Teller successfully managed to snatch the donut to his hands with no traces at all.
Soon after, the two revealed the strategy for the same, with Teller apparently just having a duplicate donut in his pocket. However, the real thrill comes when Penn and Teller showed the twist to the same magic trick. Replacing the donut with an inner tube and the ribbon with a rope, Teller perfectly managed to get the tube off the rope.
“That is the Penn and Teller inner tube trick!” Penn said. “That’s how its done!”
Fool Us is Renewed for Season 10
The dynamic duo is most especially known for their CW show, Penn and Teller: Fool Us. Successfully running a number of nine seasons by last year, the series is once again renewed for its tenth season.
This milestone rendered Fool Us the longest-running magic show in TV history. Writing over a hundred tricks since the first season, Penn says that they’re now coming to “wicked old” ones. They then experiment with them until they come up with more unique tricks.
Apart from their CW show, Penn and Teller also perform regularly in Sin City. Such they have been doing for decades, also becoming the longest-running headliners in Vegas.
“We’re competing with Sinatra and Elvis and winning,” he said. “We’ve ran longer than anyone ever in Las Vegas.”
Their show is held in the Penn & Teller theater at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. Meanwhile, Fool Us airs every Friday at 8:00 p.m. on The CW.
