Tyra Banks Executive Producing New Drag Series
According to Deadline, Generation Drag will follow five teenagers (Jameson, Noah, Vinny, Bailey, and Nabela) and their families as they prepare to perform at Dragutante, a drag show for young LGBTQ+ artists to express themselves on stage.
“I have such admiration and respect for these teens. They are bravely navigating coming into their own in a world that can be very challenging and not always accepting. What is so beautiful is seeing their parents and siblings supporting them,” Banks said about the series in a statement.
The supermodel added that she “can’t wait for these popping personalities to show their fierceness to the world.” All six episodes of the new series will premiere on Discovery+ on June 1.
Will Banks Return to ‘Dancing with the Stars’?
It was recently announced that Dancing with the Stars would be leaving ABC and moving to Disney+ next season. This begs the question of whether Banks will return as host after the move. She hasn’t been the most popular with fans since joining the show in 2020.
Although the show hasn’t officially announced a host for Season 31, rumors have been swirling that Banks is out. Former co-host Brooke Burke even recently commented on Banks’ controversial hosting performance, calling her “a diva.”
According to The Sun, fans have also speculated that Banks will not return based on the recent news that she’s appearing in an upcoming remake of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. With production on the film starting later this year, will she be too busy to host? Only time will tell.
