In a recent interview, Dancing with the Stars host Tyra Banks shared a little bit about what fans can expect from the new season. It sounds like Banks is really shaking things up this time around.

Banks also chatted with Extra about the recent changes at Victoria’s Secret. She was the first Black woman to sign a contract to model with the brand, appearing as an Angel from 1997 to 2005.

Tyra Banks on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Returning

Rachel Lindsay asked Banks if we can expect “twists and turns” on the new season of Dancing with the Stars, to which the host replied, “Of course.” She explained that she’s doing things she originally wanted to do last season.

“There was a lot of twist and turn I wanted to do the first time, but we didn’t have enough time to do my twists and my turns,” Banks explained. “So there are gonna be some things that are modern, to bring the youth to watching that show even more with their families. So you’ll see, it’ll be like, ‘Oh, really? Oh, Tyra. Oh, she did that?'”

We’re not sure how these apparent changes will go down with die-hard fans of the show, considering so many viewers criticized Banks’ performance as host last season. Banks is also an executive producer on the long-running ABC series. We’ll have to wait and see what she does to shake up the format when Season 30 premieres later this year.

How Does Banks Feel About Victoria’s Secret Changes?

Banks also told Extra what she thinks about the recent decision to retire the Victoria’s Secret Angels, replacing them with a VS Collective of spokeswomen from various fields to “rally support for causes vital to women.”

“Better late than never,” Banks said about the change. “I’m actually proud of them. I mean, this is something that I’ve been saying in the press for so long … So finally seeing it happen is fantastic.”

The former America’s Got Talent host spoke about the history she made as the first Black Victoria’s Secret contract model, saying, “I ushered in that moment and that revolution … And now there’s another revolution. We have to continue to go forward.”
