Joel Claudio Delivers Awesome Quick Change Twirl Act on ‘AGT’
Joel was born and raised in Puerto Rico but now lives in North Carolina. His sister was a majorette in a local group and he was in the drumline. He always had a fascination with dancing and performing. From the moment Joel saw the batons he thought it was really cool. He was hooked from the second he tried it out for himself.
Joel has watched AGT from the very first season when Bianca Ryan was declared the winner. Joel might just be following in her footsteps and taking home the $1 million prize. He already has 146,000 TikTok followers who love tuning in to his mesmerizing videos. He is now taking over the world’s biggest stage.
Joel performed an energetic routine to “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. He literally pulled off a quick change mid-performance. Last week, we saw quick-change artist Léa Kyle earn Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer. Klum suggested that Joel change his outfits more while twirling the batons. Joel did everything from leaps to cartwheels and twirled until we were dizzy.Â
“You managed to raise your stick higher than anyone on the AGT set,” Simon Cowell said. “I’ve never ever ever ever seen it go higher. I mean it was stunning.”
Cowell also complimented Joel’s personality and optimism during his whole audition. It was a no-brainer when all of the judges voted him through to the next round of the competition. We cannot wait to see what he decides to do next to step up his routine.
