How YouTuber Trisha Paytas Botched Her ‘America’s Got Talent’ Audition

Reading Time: 2 minutes

YouTuber, actress, and OnlyFans creator Trisha Paytas made headlines in 2012 when she gave a cringeworthy rap performance on America’s Got Talent. Her audition was memorable for all the wrong reasons, but it gave her even more exposure. Over a decade later, Paytas has leveraged her infamy into an impressively lucrative career.

Paytas Delivered a Cringe Worthy Rap on the AGT Stage

In 2012, Paytas, 23 years old, auditioned for AGT season 7 as a rapper. She performed an original rap song, wearing a hot pink latex dress. Paytas rapped at an extremely fast pace, but her lyrics were pretty meaningless. The odd performance earned her buzzes from all three judges within seconds.

After getting eliminated, Paytas admitted she never intended on winning and only auditioned to meet judge Howard Stern. The radio host seemed amused by her antics and gave her a hug. Paytas’ baffling audition has now amassed over 12 million views on YouTube. Many fans watch for the secondhand embarrassment but can’t look away.

Although she didn’t make it past the AGT auditions, the experience gave Paytas more exposure. She was already posting bizarre videos on YouTube before AGT and continued gaining subscribers. Her main channel now has over five million subscribers.

Paytas produces clickbait content covering everything from mukbangs to emotional breakdowns on her kitchen floor. She also posts original songs, vlogs, and more. Paytas has appeared on various reality shows like My Strange Addiction, Millionaire Matchmaker, and Celebrity Big Brother.

Trisha Paytas is Still Chasing Clout Today

Paytas is now more financially successful than ever. However, she’s still desperate for attention and stirring up drama online constantly. Paytas has feuded with many fellow internet stars over the years. She makes shocking statements, like identifying as transgender, coming out as a lesbian, or being part chicken nugget. Paytas thrives on controversy and wants to stay relevant at all costs.

Recently, Paytas is performed on Broadway as part of the cast of Beetlejuice. Her limited time on the show took place from November 4 to 23, 2025. She played the role of Maxine Dean. In the past, Paytas’ biggest moneymaker was OnlyFans. At one point she earned up to $1 million a month posting explicit content on the adult-only platform.

Paytas no longer is active on the adult-only platform, since she is married and has children with husband Moses Hacmon. They welcomed their first child, Malibu Barbie in September 2022, second child, Elvis, in May 2024, and third child, Aquaman, in July 2025.
