Harry Styles held at knifepoint and mugged in London
Harry Styles went into full detail about a recent mugging he was a victim of in London on the Howard Stern Show. Styles admitted he was walking late at night in the area of Hampstead, home some of the world’s wealthiest A-list celebrities.
The singer described in detail what appeared to be a planned attempt to steal Harry’s belongings. Styles was walking from a friend’s house when he saw a group of men continuously following him from one side of the street to another.
One the group members had taken cash from the singer after a knife had been made visible. The group also made an attempt to get Harry’s phone. Harry was adamant that he wasn’t going to give his phone over, which initiated one of the group members to count down from 10. It was at this moment that Styles thought about throwing the phone into a nearby pond.

“There’s a little pond behind them and I thought I’d throw it in the pond and be like, neither of us can have it.” Styles said to Howard that he decided against it, to prevent any further conflict. Harry then recalls deciding to run into the street, after being able to make out car headlights.
“Two cars were coming and I felt an opportunity to sprint and run and I ran into the road and tried to stop a car, but obviously a mad man runs into the road, you won’t let them into your car, so they don’t let me in,” Styles continued.

The former One Direction singer then had no option but to sprint away from the scene. He recalls running into the area where he lives and the group of muggers giving up since they already had the cash that was handed over.
This comes after a staggering 50% of all homicides in London last year were due to knife crime. Knife crime in the city alone is at a 10 year high.
