After suffering an alarming collapse, The Masked Singer and American Idol alum Tori Kelly has finally recovered. According to the singer, her health condition seems like a “manageable thing” now.
Tori Kelly Now Feels Great Following “Crazy” Collapse
During her recent guest appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Kelly opened up about her previous hospitalization. Recalling the experience, the “Paper Hearts” singer described that it had been a “scary few days” for her.
“It was really crazy and scary. My family was definitely there for me, but I had a peace throughout most of it, but I was just kind of confused and wondering what was going on,” she said.
She then went on to share how thankful she is for having “amazing doctors.” Now, the singer is getting a good grasp on how to manage her health.
“I feel amazing now,” she said. “And so you know, they’re still monitoring me and everything like that, but I feel great.”
As reported by TMZ, Kelly was hanging out with her friends when her heartbeat unexpectedly quickened. After passing out “for a while,” she proceeded to collapse, prompting her friends to take her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. During her hospitalization, medical professionals found blood clots around her lungs and legs.
On July 27, Kelly published a handwritten note for fans on Instagram to give them an update. At the time, her doctors haven’t fully identified her medical issue yet.
“I can feel your prayers and can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover,” she wrote.
She’s Glad She Decided to Put Music Out Amid Health Condition
Elsewhere in the interview, Hudson asked if Kelly immediately got back to work after her time in the hospital. The singer then explained that during her unfortunate health emergency, she had music the was already “scheduled to come out.”
According to the singer, she hesitated on releasing her music on the expected date. Eventually, it was decided that her EP would still go out on the expected date.
“I kind of had the option like, ‘Okay, do I want to push it back even more?’ And I decided you know what? I’m still gonna put out this music even though I can’t promote it the way that I usually would,” she said.
For those who may not know, Kelly released her EP, “Tori,” on July 28. As described by the singer, this music collection “represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years.”
“I was like, I really want to still give my fans the opportunity to just listen to music because this music is so happy and fun. I wanted them to just be able to have that,” she said.
The singer-songwriter then stated that when she’s already feeling better, she expects to perform her songs live and enjoy it with her fans. Believing that everything happens for a reason, Kelly has no regrets that she put out the music as scheduled.
