This Band Completely ROCKED The ‘AGT’ Stage [VIDEO]
In 2015, a rock band called 3 Shades of Blue wowed the judges on AGT. The band was made up of three brothers and their friend, all between the ages of 19 and 20.
The band had auditioned the previous year but didn’t make it through. Check out their Season 10 audition, and read on to find out more about their story.
Band 3 Shades Of Blue Rocks ‘AGT’
The band 3 Shades of Blue had previously auditioned for Season 9 of AGT. They performed “Let Her Go” by Passenger, but their performance wasn’t show on TV. Howard Stern and Mel B voted yes, but Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum voted no, meaning they didn’t make it through.
Twin brothers Jeffery and Jesse are part of the group, as well as their younger brother Austin and their friend Dane. The three brothers are the oldest siblings out of nine, and they’ve been playing music together since they were young.
The brothers met Dane in high school. At the time of their AGT audition, they were playing at bars and private events, but they dreamed of playing bigger shows.
For their audition, 3 Shades of Blue performed Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.” Jeffery handled lead vocals while playing the piano. The other members of the band played drums and guitar. The audience clapped along to their electrifying performance.
How Far Did 3 Shades Of Blue Get?
Howard Stern loved the performance, saying a lot of other rock bands might avoid the AGT stage. He added that the drummer was “exceptional,” and told them, “Your time has come on this show. You’re gonna do really well.”
Mel B said she had heard the song done better vocally, but liked “the whole package.” Howie Mandel said they “brought everything you need to bring to that performance.” Heidi Klum, meanwhile, liked Jeffery’s voice.
The band received three “yes” votes to move on. They ended up making it all the way to the semifinals of AGT Season 10. They went on to release original music, and put out a music video for their song “Lonely” in 2015. However, the band’s social media hasn’t been updated since 2016.
