‘The Voice’ Winner Todd Tilghman Releases New Song ‘Slow Down’
The Voice Season 18 winner Todd Tilghman has a new song out, and his coach Blake Shelton approves. The country star promoted the newly released single, called “Slow Down,” on social media Friday. It’s a heartwarming track that relates to living life in the moment.

The song is about, well, slowing down and appreciating life as it happens. As Todd wrote on Facebook, “If your kids are growing up too fast, or if you’re missing someone in Heaven: check out Slow Down.”
“So lean more on the brake, and less on the gas / These days won’t come back around / Slow down,” Todd sings on the track, which was co-written by Priscilla Block, Jared Hovis, and Nathan Perry. The lyrics describe a father’s advice to his son.
The song gets emotional as Todd sings, “I learned that time don’t ease up / Standing in a hospital room / Wishing I could go back to hearing your laugh / Saying ‘Son, don’t wish it too soon.'”
Todd Recently Collaborated with Fellow Winner Jake Hoot
Last month, Todd teamed up with The Voice Season 17 winner Jake Hoot on a cover of the hymn “In the Garden.” Jake won the show on Kelly Clarkson’s team in 2019.
It’s not the only collaboration Todd has shared with a fellow The Voice winner. He and Season 9 winner Jordan Smith were announced last year as supporting acts for Rhett Walker’s The Gospel Song & Tailgatin’ Tour. They also teamed up for a cover of Vince Gill’s “God Rest High On That Mountain.”
Todd released a Christmas EP last year called Old Photos at Christmastime.
