The Voice Season 18 winner Todd Tilghman is preparing to release a new Christmas EP, and he recently previewed the upcoming project with a live performance of “O Holy Night” for CCM magazine.
Tilghman won the show on Team Blake Shelton in 2020, and he’s released a few new singles since then, in addition to a recent tour with fellow winner Jordan Smith.
Todd Tilghman Performs ‘O Holy Night’ Ahead of Christmas EP
Tilghman introduced his performance for CCM magazine by saying that “O Holy Night” is “easily the most requested Christmas song I ever get asked to sing, every year, since I was a kid.” He added that it’s “also one of my favorites.” You can hear it on his Christmas EP December 10.
The 43-year-old singer went on to perform the classic song with a simple acoustic backing, showing off the same gritty, country voice that won him the trophy last year. The performance goes from hushed, gentle tones to full-on belting.
Tilghman’s EP is titled Old Photos at Christmastime, which is also the title of an original song featured on the project. The singer announced on Instagram that he’ll also be playing “a string of intimate acoustic Christmas shows.” He’ll be releasing his cover of “O Come O Come Emmanuel” next Friday, November 26.
