Inside Scoop: Get a First Look at the Season 20 ‘American Idol’ Hopefuls

American Idol is preparing for its best season yet. The February 27 premiere will bring back judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, as well as Luke Bryan. Fans are excited to welcome a new batch of contestants as curiosity continues to surround how the new platinum ticket will change the show.

Christian Guardino
In what will be one of American Idol Season 20’s most feel-good stories, Christian will show the world what perseverance looks like. The singer is well-known as a Season 12 America’s Got Talent contestant. He won the Golden Buzzer from judge Howie Mendel. Viewers will learn of Christian’s miracle surgery that helped restore his vision. Christian was recently a special guest on Hunter Hayes’s Closer to You tour.
Sage
With a name that will be memorable, Sage is ready for her Platinum Ticket. The singer has a growing fanbase who are hooked on her songwriting as well as singing skills. She usually posts her performances from her intimate shows as well as moments of reflection.
Jacob Moran
Will the second time be the charm for Jacob Moran? The Michigan nurse was known to sing songs to the elderly and went on to participate in Hollywood week. With a transformation that will most likely be shown as a backstory, Jacob is ready to give the Idol stage one more shot.
Carrie Brockwell
The Richmond, VA, native will be representing country music on Season 20 of Idol. The singer recently released a 4 song EP titled “Impressions.” Based on her Instagram, the country singer is becoming a local celebrity in her hometown. Will another Carrie make American Idol history?

The popular music teacher attended the New York auditions. The rock singer has a large fanbase. In 2021 her YouTube had over 1 million watch time views. In 2021 the singer released her single “Lost Control.”
Cadence Baker
The young singer from Nashville, TN, is hoping to be yet another country music star to come from being on a season of American Idol.
Lucas Michael West
Lucas will be a contestant that will show off his musicianship. The singer can play the piano as well as the saxophone. He has already bonded with other hopeful contestants and seems to be someone who will make friends on the show for years to come.
Ava Maybee
The singer is ready to bring some punk rock to the Idol auditions. She has given a shout out to judge Katy Perry, signaling that perhaps the pop star will be the judge who will fight to see Maybee through to Hollywood. As of 2021 her music has reached over 100 Countries.
Sir Blyke
Sir Blyke has found a fan in American Idol winner Jordin Sparks. The aspiring singer announced that he auditioned for Season 20 of Idol which Sparks showed her delight in his comments section. In what seems to be a new normal for American Idol hopefuls, Sir Blyke has also recently released an EP.
Kenedi Anderson
TikTok is another pathway for singers to audition on American Idol. We watched Benson Boone as well as other TikTok stars appear on the hit singing competition show. Will she be the next major Idol star who got her start from the social media app?
Allegra Miles
The Voice alum was just 16 years old when she joined Team Nick on Season 18 of the show. She wowed the judges with her rendition of King Of Leon’s “Use Somebody.” Allegra is now 19 years old. She has continued to showcase her strong singing as well as songwriting skills on her social media.
