‘The Voice’ Season 26 Playoffs Begin with Gwen Stefani’s Team

Michael Buble, Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg on 'The Voice' Playoffs

The Voice Season 26 returned on Tuesday night for the first round of the Playoffs, as Gwen Stefani’s team took the stage. Out of the five artists who performed, Stefani had to choose just two of them to move on to the live shows.

Team Gwen Performs in The Voice Playoffs

This round of the competition features celebrity “Playoff Advisors” who assist the coaches in preparing their artists for their performances. Stefani’s Playoff Advisor was Machine Gun Kelly. The artists on her team who made it through the Knockout round took the stage for a chance to move on.

Impressively, four of the artists on Team Gwen were four-chair turns in their Blind Auditions. That includes Jose Luis, who took the stage in the Playoffs to sing “No More Drama” by Mary J. Blige. Another four-chair turn, Jake Tankersley, sang “The Painter” by Cody Johnson.

Gabrielle Zabosky, who also turned four chairs in her audition, took the stage to perform “Listen to Your Heart” by Roxette. Unfortunately, Stefani ended up sending Jose, Jake, and Gabrielle home. The only four-chair turn remaining on her team is Sydney Sterlace, who sang “Betty” by Taylor Swift.

Sydney is going to the live shows, along with Jan Dan, who performed “Dust in the Wind” by Kansas during Tuesday’s Playoffs. His performance brought Stefani to tears.

The Playoffs Will Continue Next Week

The other three coaches’ teams still have yet to perform in the Playoffs. On Monday, November 25, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire’s teams will take the stage for their chance to move on to the live shows. Then on Tuesday, November 26, Michael Bublé’s team will perform.

Once all the coaches have chosen two artists from their teams to move on, there will be a total of eight artists in the live shows, which are set to kick off on Monday, December 2. It’s during this round that fans at home will finally get to vote for their favorite artists.
