The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out over the weekend and a few of our favorite talent shows were among the winners. That includes The Voice and RuPaul’s Drag Race, the latter of which won in two separate categories.

The Voice, RuPaul’s Drag Race Are Emmy Winners

The Voice won the Emmy for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Series. It unfortunately lost the other award it was nominated for, Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Series.

Meanwhile, RuPaul won the award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program for the seventh year in a row. RuPaul’s Drag Race also won an award for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety, Reality or Competition Series.

Meanwhile, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls also won two awards. This show brought home awards for Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program.

The Primetime Emmys Will Take Place September 12

These shows have a chance to win another award at the Primetime Emmys, on September 12. The Voice, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls are among the nominees for Outstanding Competition Program.

The odds are in RuPaul’s favor, as Drag Race has won in this category every year since 2018. Before that, The Voice took home the award three times in a row. Could they both be beaten by Lizzo, or will another show like The Amazing Race, Nailed It!, or Top Chef sneak up for the win?

Unfortunately, Dancing with the Stars lost all three Emmys it was nominated for over the weekend, including Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. American Idol and The Masked Singer also walked away empty-handed.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Kenan Thompson, will air September 12 on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
