‘The Voice’ Recap: Blake Shelton Lures Singer to Team With “Pick Me” Foam Finger
Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Voice is officially wrapping up their season 23 Blind Auditions. With teams getting filled, coaches are being pickier than ever, here’s everything you might’ve missed.
Blake Shelton Uses “Pick Me” Foam Finger
During Kylee Dayne beautiful rendition of “Fallingwater” by Maggie Rogers, Niall Horan, Chance The Rapper, and Blake Shelton turned their chairs. Since three coaches turned, and competition is tight with teams closing up, the celebrities were quick to persuade the singer.
While Chance The Rapper and Horan were quick to mention their experience in music, as well as their popular friends, veteran Shelton had a different idea. Ever since this season of The Voice was teased, fans have seen footage of a foam finger descending down from the ceiling, to point at Shelton. Finally, the moment was revealed.
Shelton laughed at his quirky joke, while the other coaches seemed confused. Although Kylee ultimately ended up picking Team Blake, Horan and Chance The Rapper weren’t surprised. They joked saying that she felt bad, but would’ve joined their teams if they had a giant foam finger.

Singer Dedicates Song to Deceased Sister
One of the most shocking voices of the night came from singer JB Somers. Ahead of his performance the show shared his package, which talked about his deceased sister. He shared the story of his sister’s battle with addiction, and how she inspired him to pursue his dreams in singing.
Once on stage, The Voice saw yet another Joni Mitchell song with, JB’s audition. Immediately, I knew Shelton wouldn’t turn for this singer, since he’s admitted earlier this season that he didn’t know “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell.
JB gave an outstanding performance of “A Case of You,” which certainly turned the chairs of Clarkson and Chance The Rapper. I wish JB would’ve auditioned sooner in this compeition, I truly believe he would’ve gotten a four-chair-turn.
Since the Blind Auditions are coming to an end, both coaches attempted to charm the singer. Out of all, the greatest compliment from the coaches was acknowledging that he deserves to go all the way to the finale, no matter the team. In addition, Horan and Shelton explained their reasoning for not turning. Simply, their reasoning was related to their teams being mostly filled. After Clarkson and Chance The Rapper seriously argued it out, JB decided to pick Team Kelly.

Four-Chair Turn Singer Chooses Team
The final audition of the night featured none other than early release singer, Cait Martin. After the singer’s leaked audition, fans have been dying to know which team she’ll join.
If you missed it, Cait took a unique route on performing Harry Styles’s “As It Was.” Her rendition had coaches shocked, so much that Clarkson turned within 10 seconds. Following Clarkson, Horan, Chance The Rapper, and finally Shelton turned. Now, it’s been revealed that Cait has joined Team Kelly.
