Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire Reportedly Had to “Play Nice For The Cameras” on ‘The Voice’ set

While numerous The Voice fans are thrilled to know that country star Reba McEntire is serving as this season’s Mega Mentor, a source revealed that veteran coach Kelly Clarkson is not happy with the news. Allegedly, McEntire is trying to stir the drama of Clarkson’s messy public divorce.
Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire Are Reportedly Not on Good Terms
Ahead of The Voice‘s Battle and Knockout Rounds, it’s been revealed that Clarkson and her former mother in law Reba McEntire had to play nice on set. Apparently, the two had to pretend like they were close while filming the two rounds. According to a source, McEntire was had been involving herself in Clarkson’s divorce. For those who may not know, McEntire’s son is Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
“They have to play nice for the cameras, but things are really tense between them,” the source claimed. “Reba’s got it in her head that Kelly should take Brandon back, which has really upset Kelly.”
Clarkson and Blackstock ended their sour and distressing divorce back in 2022. The singer was awarded primary custody of their two children. Nonetheless, Clarkson still had to pay Blackstock a $1.3 million settlement and child support of $45,000 a month.
“For some reason, Reba just can’t accept that it’s over,” the source said.
McEntire was formerly married to Blackstock’s father, she allegedly maintained close ties with him. This relationship has reportedly triggered the country singer to share her unsolicited sentiments as regards the issue.
Clarkson Doesn’t Want to Work With Her Ex Mother in Law
The unknown source also claimed that McEntire has a “soft spot” for her stepson. Clarkson is thus reportedly annoyed with the way that she is interfering with her family situation.
“Reba has this delusional hope Brandon and Kelly could work things out,” the source said. “She thinks it would be better for the kids. Kelly’s not having any of it.”
Furthermore, the source stated that the “Breakaway” singer wants McEntire to leave the show. Due to the tension allegedly “boiling over,” everyone on set is worried that their rift won’t be hidden behind the scenes.
Since last year, Clarkson has been open to the public regarding her divorce from Blackstock. The singer wasn’t one to deny her grief amid the difficult situation. Nonetheless, she has converted this pain into art, thus creating her highly anticipated album, which will be released this year.
