Monday night marked the first night of knockouts on The Voice Season 18. The coaches were joined by legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor as the Mega Mentor. He called the show the “most positive” and “most effective” singing competition on TV.
This season on The Voice, each coach has the chance to steal one rejected artist from another team during the knockouts. Tonight’s episode featured two steals. John Legend won back a former contestant, while Nick Jonas was rejected by one of his own ex-teammates. Get ready to cringe!

Joei Fulco vs. Levi Watkins (Team Blake)
Joei performed “When Will I Be Loved” by Linda Ronstadt, while Levi sang “I Ain’t Living Long Like This” by Waylon Jennings. John Legend said they were both “perfect performances.” The coaches were impressed by Levi’s performance at just 14 years old, and Kelly said she wanted to adopt him. However, Blake chose Joei as the knockout winner.
CammWess vs. Megan Danielle (Team Kelly)
New Team Kelly addition CammWess performed “Say Something” by A Great Big World, while Megan sang “Piece by Piece” by Kelly herself. John said he regretted letting CammWess go from his team. Kelly chose Megan as the winner of the knockout, while both Nick and John hit their buttons to steal. Nick told Camm not to get back together with his ex-coach, but he chose Team Legend anyway.

Roderick Chambers vs. Tate Brusa (Team Nick)
Roderick performed “Redbone” by Childish Gambino, while Tate sang “The Scientist” by Coldplay. James Taylor called Tate “a prodigy” during rehearsals. Kelly said she couldn’t believe he’s only 16 years old. However, Nick chose Roderick as the winner of the knockout, saying he has a “willingness to get better.”
Cam Spinks vs. Todd Tilghman (Team Blake)
Cam performed “Rumor” by Lee Brice, while Todd sang “Anymore” by Travis Tritt. John said Cam had “a few pitch problems,” while Nick said Todd “brought us to church.” Blake said Todd “feeds off of energy.” He ended up choosing Todd as the winner of the knockout.
