Arei Moon vs. Samuel Wilco (Team Nick)

The Jonas brothers gave Samuel a cake for his 40th birthday during rehearsals for his battle with Arei. They performed “Missing You” by John Waite, which Nick said suited their R&B backgrounds. Kelly Clarkson said they both have “cool voices,” and Blake Shelton said it was “a pretty even match.” Nick chose Arei as the winner of the battle.

Megan Danielle vs. Samantha Howell (Team Kelly)

These singers who like a mixture of genres paired up to sing “Top of the World” by Patty Griffin. Blake said he was wrong for not turning around for Megan in the blind auditions. Kelly said Samantha’s tone was “pure,” while Megan’s was “raw.” Ultimately, she chose Megan as the winner. However, she also saved Samantha.

Jon Mullins vs. Todd Tilghman (Team Blake)

Blake assigned these singers to perform “Ghost in This House” by Shenandoah. John Legend praised the “emotion” the singers put into the performance, and wondered how Jon only turned one chair. Kelly said it was “a pretty even battle.” Blake said it was a “monumental mistake” to pair them up. Ultimately, he chose Todd as the winner. Meanwhile, Nick chose to steal Jon.

Brittney Allen vs. Zan Fiskum (Team Legend)

John assigned these singers “Closer to Fine” by the Indigo Girls, saying he wanted to hear two female voices harmonizing on the track. The coaches praised John’s song selection. John ultimately chose Zan as the winner of the battle, saying she reminds him of previous winner Maelyn Jarmon.

Mandi Thomas vs. Sara Collins (Team Kelly)

These two singers performed “My Baby Loves Me” by Martina McBride, which Kelly said she grew up with. Nick said he was interested to see what songs Mandi (who is an opera singer) would choose if she made it through. Kelly acknowledged that the two artists were very different, but chose Mandi as the winner.

Cedrice vs. Thunderstorm Artis (Team Legend)

John said these two singers “look cool together.” He paired them up to sing “Stay” by Rihanna, calling it “one of the great ballads of the last decade.” Nick said he was looking forward to seeing this battle, and they didn’t disappoint, as he called it “intimate.” Kelly said she couldn’t keep her eyes off Cedrice. John chose Thunderstorm as the winner, but Blake chose to steal Cedrice. He acknowledged they’re an “odd pairing,” but believes they can work well together going forward.

THE ‘VOICE’ MOMENT THAT MADE KELLY CLARKSON LAUGH UNCONTROLLABLY
