‘The Voice’ Coaches Are Stunned by This Powerhouse Battle in New Sneak Peek
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Battles continue on The Voice Season 21 next week, and there’s a new sneak peek showing Team Blake members Manny Keith and Wendy Moten blowing the roof off the place with a powerhouse Sting cover. The coaches were absolutely stunned by the performance, especially Wendy’s half.
Team Blake Battle Wows ‘The Voice’ Coaches
Coach Blake Shelton paired up his team members Manny and Wendy for a cover of “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You” by Sting. Manny’s unique Dua Lipa cover in the Blind Auditions turned only Shelton’s chair. Wendy, meanwhile, turned four chairs and surprised everyone by choosing Shelton, who had blocked fellow coach John Legend.
It might seem a little unfair to pair up a one-chair turn with a four-chair turn in the Battles. But the artists both gave it their all, even if Wendy seemed to be the clear winner. Her soaring voice had coaches Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson standing up from their chairs looking absolutely stunned.
The great thing is that Manny and Wendy seemed to get along really well, giving each other a kiss on the cheek when the performance was over. “I love you!” Wendy told Manny as they prepared for the coaches’ comments.

What Did the Coaches Have to Say About the Battle?
Grande described Wendy’s voice as “one in a zillion.” She said she had goosebumps and was “leaving my body, hovering, watching this from an out-of-body experience.” Clarkson, meanwhile, described Manny as the music and Wendy as the words or message.
“I’ve done quite a few singing competitions all over the world,” Clarkson told Wendy. “This is literally one of the best things I’ve ever heard, ever … If you don’t make the finale, something’s wrong in the world.”
Shelton told Manny that he “stood toe to toe with Wendy up there.” However, we’d be seriously shocked if he didn’t choose Wendy as the winner of the Battle. That doesn’t necessarily mean Manny’s time on the show is over, as another coach could steal him.
In his audition, Manny shared that he’s a huge Ariana Grande fan. Grande felt bad that she didn’t turn around, complimenting his voice and adding, “Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to steal you at some point.” We’ll see if that happens when The Voice returns Monday night on NBC.
