‘The Voice’ Alum Pete Mroz Drops Song Produced By Blake Shelton’s Bass Player
The Voice Season 20 artist Pete Mroz just dropped a very romantic song. “Always Been You” is a sweet anthem with a ton of great guitar playing. It was produced by Rob Byus, Blake Shelton’s bass player. Pete had a hilarious reunion during his Blind Audition when Shelton failed to recognize him at first.
Pete first began his career in Nashville under the name Pete Mitchell. Shelton and Pete were in a songwriting group together called The Young Riders. The pair had not seen each other in 25 years. Being on The Voice was the perfect place for a reunion. The two went back and forth about the bass player that Shelton “stole” from Pete. It looks like Pete got him back for now.
‘The Voice’ Artist Pete Mroz Releases ‘Always Been You‘
“Always Been You” is giving off soft rock vibes and is also just a very calming song. Pete’s voice really shines through for being so smooth. He is able to hold each of the notes at the perfect pitch without it being too much. He stuck to what he knows for this song. This is a song that Pete has been playing for years. The fact that it has finally been professionally produced proves how competing on The Voice can change someone’s life.
“‘Always Been You’ out TODAY on all major music platforms,” Pete wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to @rob_byus for working so hard on this among all the other stuff he is doing! It sounds amazing and I will pass this song on to my children! Thank you to @nbcthevoice for getting me ready for this and being able to share with an entire new audience. @blakeshelton cheers to you Ol Cowboy and here’s to many more!!”
To help promote “Always Been You,” Pete posted an adorable video of his son singing the song. He also dropped the song on the same day as the Season 21 The Voice premiere. Pete will be tuning in this season because he hosts Artist 2 Artist, a show on Instagram where he catches up with former contestants.
He also recently performed at Shelton’s Ole Red venue, an opportunity stemming from his time on The Voice. Team Blake always boasts some big talents. Pete is just one of the many artists we hope to see collaborate with Shelton in the future. “Always Been You” is a great song to have on repeat as we wait for the second part of The Voice premiere tonight.
