‘The Queen Family Singalong’ Will Star Familiar ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Faces

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Queen Night on Dancing With the Stars is now Queen Week on ABC. Today, the network will air its newest family singalong, The Queen Family Singalong. This special will feature music from the iconic rock group, as well as some familiar DWTS and American Idol faces. This special will air tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
ABC is holding this celebration for Queen’s 50th anniversary. Since everyone knows (and loves) Queen, ABC gathered a slew of celebrities that families will know and love to honor the group. The musical master is Darren Criss, who’s known for his role of Blaine Anderson on Glee.
This family singalong is filled with performances featuring some of our favorite celebrities. The performers include American Idol sensation Adam Lambert, DWTS judge Derek Hough, and DWTS celebrities JoJo Siwa and Jimmie Allen.
In addition to the names from DWTS and American Idol, celebrities like Alessia Cara, Fall Out Boy, OneRepublic, Orianthi and Pentatonix are set to perform. Special guests include the cast from Disney’s The Lion King and Aladdin on Broadway, along with Miss Piggy and Animal. This all star cast looks like they’re going to put on a great show!
The History of the “Singalong” Specials
Queen is a group that has an extremely versatile fanbase. There’s really a Queen song for everyone and the network is showing that through their use of celebrities of different ages. ABC’s “singalong” specials began in April 2020 with The Disney Family Singalong. This original “singalong” featured nostalgic music with some of their original performers.
Disney fans ate up this special. Personally, I remember loving Derek Hough’s performance with Julianne and Hayley Erbert of “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast. The “singalong” specials began as a way to bring joy to people amid the coronavirus and has only skyrocketed since.
This special premiered as TV’s highest-rated show among adults on any network since the 2020 broadcast of The Oscars. Even though the state of the world has begun to change since the first “singalong” special, ABC keeps producing them. Up to this point, their three “singalong” specials have received a combined 29.9 million total viewers after 35 days on both linear and digital platforms.
You can catch The Queen Family Singalong tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
