Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Masked Singer Season 8 returned on Wednesday for Fright Night, as reigning Queen Snowstorm took on new contestants Sir Bug A Boo and Scarecrow for a spot in the Semifinals. In the end, she kept her crown, but only after Scarecrow eliminated herself and was unmasked as Linda Blair.
Scarecrow Eliminates Herself on The Masked Singer
Scarecrow performed “Abracadabra ” by Steve Miller Band during Wednesday’s show, showing off a fun personality and even walking off stage to interact with the panelists at one point. Initial guesses about her identity included Parker Posey and Susan Sarandon.
When it came time to reveal the first contestant who would be unmasked, Scarecrow stopped host Nick Cannon to share how much she loves the show and to say she was bowing out to allow Snowstorm and Sir Bug A Boo to battle it out for the final Semifinals spot.
The panelists were shocked by her decision, but they went on to make their final guesses, which included Glenn Close and Jamie Lee Curtis. Scarecrow then took her mask off to reveal that she was actress Linda Blair of The Exorcist fame. She emphasized how much the show means to her, saying, “I feel you are my family.”

Snowstorm Moves on to the Semifinals
Because Scarecrow chose to leave the competition, Sir Bug a Boo and Snowstorm faced off in the Battle Royale. Earlier in the episode, Sir Bug A Boo sang “Devil with a Blue Dress On,” while Snowstorm took on “Sweet But Psycho.”
In their Battle Royale, the pair each sang their own version of “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell. It was then up to the panel to decide who should move on. They ultimately chose to send Snowstorm to the Semifinals, where she’ll take on Harp and the Lambs.
That meant that Sir Bug A Boo had to be unmasked. Final guesses from the panel included Randy Jackson, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Ernie Hudson. But he actually turned out to be Ray Parker Jr., who famously wrote and performed the theme song for Ghostbusters.
We won’t have to wait long to see the Masked Singer Season 8 Semifinals, since it’s airing this Thursday night at 8/7c on FOX. One of the three remaining contestants will be unmasked, and the final two will move on to compete in the Finals.
