Bill Nye Marries Liza Mundy at the Smithsonian
Appropriately, People reports that Nye and Mundy wed at the Castle Building’s Haupt Garden at the Smithsonian Institute. The magazine shared photos from the happy day, taken by former White House photographer Pete Souza. Nye wore an orange flower in his lapel to match Mundy’s bouquet.
Robert Picardo, The Doctor in various Star Trek series, officiated the wedding. A source states that the couple wrote their own vows, which were “equal parts moving and comical.” Their first dance was to Sam Cooke’s rendition of “What a Wonderful World.”
Mundy is a former Washington Post reporter and best-selling author. She and Nye connected after Mundy mentioned Nye’s mother, cryptanalyst Jacqueline Jenkins-Nye, in her book Code Girls: The Untold Story of the American Women Code Breakers of World War II.
