Some Fans Aren’t Happy with This Season’s ‘The Voice’ Coaches

The Voice Season 22 coaches were announced earlier this year to be Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Camila Cabello. According to a recent Reddit thread, not everyone is thrilled with this lineup, with some expressing their wish for other former coaches to return.
Fans Not Happy with ‘The Voice’ Season 22 Coaches
Heavy points to a recent Reddit thread titled “Am I the only one who finds Gwen Stefani boring?” The poster goes on to say that although they like Stefani as a person, they find her boring as a coach and would rather see past coaches Alicia Keys, Shakira, or Adam Levine sit in her chair.
Stefani has been an on-and-off coach for several seasons. She first appeared as a coach in Season 7, then returned for Seasons 9, 12, 17, and 19. Stefani got her first win on the show in Season 19 with singer Carter Rubin.
Some fans enjoy watching Stefani appear on the show with her now-husband Blake Shelton, who has been a coach on every season since The Voice started. However, several Reddit users agreed with the aforementioned post.
“She’s boring but tolerable. I much prefer Kelly,” wrote one user in response, referring to past coach Kelly Clarkson, who gave up her seat this year after eight seasons and four wins. They added, “My dream is the day Blake gives up his chair.”
Another user said they think Stefani “can’t keep up with the competitiveness of the other coaches.”

Some Fans Want Adam Levine to Return
Fans on Reddit named some past coaches they would like to see return to the show, including Usher, Miley Cyrus, and Pharrell. A few people also agreed that they wouldn’t mind seeing longtime coach Adam Levine return.
Levine was one of the show’s original coaches, and he appeared on 16 seasons before leaving in 2019. Another recent Reddit thread is titled “I miss Adam Levine.” They added that they enjoyed his competitiveness with Shelton, and thought the rivalry between Shelton and Clarkson seemed “forced” in comparison
In response, a user wrote that although they don’t enjoy the coaches’ banter in general, they miss Levine as a coach “mostly because they completely abandoned rock in his absence and the soul, gospel, country thing is completely taking over.”
Other recent thread titles include “Adam Levine please be back for Season 23!” and “The voice became a sitcom after Adam left.” However, not everyone agreed that Levine should return. One fan wrote that he “was getting crabby and mean at the end.”
