Sofia Carson to Perform During ‘American Idol’ Disney Night

Actress and singer Sofia Carson will join American Idol for a special performance on Disney Night. The Descendants star will join an episode full of Disney magic and stunning performances by the remaining nine contestants. The final seven contestants will be revealed at the end of the show.
Sofia Carson is Performing on Disney Night on ‘American Idol’
Carson kicked off her career on Disney Channel in 2014 with an appearance on the show Austin & Ally. A year later, she landed a breakout role in Descendants. The franchise has put out three very successful movies and has teased an animated special coming to Disney+ this summer.
She also participated in The Disney Family Singalong that lifted everyone’s spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic. With her own original music out right now, Carson is the perfect person to join the contestants on Disney Night. It is even speculated that she will actually be performing with the contestants in a group performance.
Disney night is an event that fans of American Idol look forward to all year long. The Top 9 contestants got to visit the Walt Disney World resort in Florida this week to gain some inspiration for their performances. They will all be taking on songs from the most iconic Disney movies.
The teaser trailer for the episode names “Let it Go,” “Remember Me,” “Can You Feel The Love Tonight,” and, “A Whole New World” as some of the biggest Disney songs of all time.

Another Major Musician is Set to Perform on the Show
Musician Jon Batiste will also perform a Disney song during American Idol’s Disney Night. He took home the Oscar for Pixar’s film Soul this past Sunday for Best Original Score. He is also the leader for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Actor John Stamos will serve as the mentor for the contestants this week. A long-time lover of Disney and the star of the Disney+ series Big Shot, he joined the Top 9 in Disney World this week to give them advice on their big performances.
Live voting will take place during this episode. Viewers will also learn the results of The Comeback in which a Season 18 contestant will earn a spot in the Top 10. While the 10 returning Season 18 contestants did not get to go to Walt Disney World with the others, they have all been practicing for their second chance in the spotlight.
Last year’s winner Just Sam even predicted that The Comeback contestant will win the show in an exclusive interview.
