Being a son of television mogul Simon Cowell, it’s not surprising that his son Eric also possesses his critiquing skills. Surely, Eric Cowell knows what a spectacular performance looks like.
We compiled Eric’s most favorite auditions in talent competition series. Let’s take a look at them.
1. Sophie Fatu, AGT 2018
Sophie Fatu was a five-year-old singer who graced America’s Got Talent season 13. Before she belted out Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” Simon Cowell revealed that Eric has a little crush on her. It’s not shocking, though; Fatu exuded so much cuteness amid her performance, and her innocence has indeed effortlessly captivated the hearts of her viewers.
2. Boogie Storm, AGT: The Champions 2020
Boogie Storm was one of the most memorable Golden Buzzers back in AGT: The Champions season two. Their performance consisted of dancing to a medley routine of popular pop songs. Interestingly, during their Finals performance, Eric appeared on screen, asking Cowell to pay attention to this dance group.
3. Dario The Dinosaur, Britain’s Got Talent 2020
Aged 37, Dario Grappegia is an alternative act whose audition involved jiving to “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. Particularly, this act consisted of four members – a T-Rex singer and three backup dancers; a caveman, a robot, and Egyptian god Anubis.
4. Baby Shark, The X Factor UK 2018
During the Live Finale of The X Factor 2018, fans could barely believe that they are witnessing Eric Cowell and friends’ “Baby Shark” performance. Definitely, fans were not anticipating the same to actually be the opening act of the show. Apparently, this became an opportunity for Cowell to declare that his son was the new boss of the running show.
5. Celine Tam, America’s Got Talent 2017
Back in the Semi-Finals of AGT season 12, kid singer Celine Tam belted out “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie Moana. After her impressive performance, Cowell said that his son would definitely be watching her performance non-stop.
6. James and Dylan Piper, Britain’s Got Talent 2020
James and Dylan Piper are a father-and-son magic act during series 14 of Britain’s Got Talent. Amid his performance, James revealed that Dylan was the one who came up with their magic trick. Clearly impressed with their performance, Cowell pointed out that he loved the fact that their magic was “a family affair.”
7. Jack Williams, America’s Got Talent 2022
An active TikTok user with millions of followers, Jack Williams joined America’s Got Talent season 17 as a ventriloquist. During his audition, he performed ventroloquism with his puppet rabbit Foster. Such performance drew laughs from both judges and audiences, and it’s thus not unexpected that Eric liked it as well.
8. Ranger Chris Roberts, Britain’s Got Talent 2022
Proclaiming himself to be a full-time Dinosaur Ranger, Ranger Chris Roberts has effectively entertained Simon Cowell with his performance. His audition consisted of dance routine to a medley of energy-induced pop songs. After his act, Cowell implied that his son would absolutely love him for Eric is extremely fond of dinosaurs.
9. Jack and Tim, Britain’s Got Talent 2018
Jack and Tim are a singing duo who graced the stage of Britain’s Got Talent season 12. During their act, they performed an original song they composed together. This is obviously a touching audition for Simon Cowell who has a special bond with Eric.
