Simon Cowell Says He Wants a ‘Spontaneous’ Wedding to Lauren Silverman

It’s been over a year since America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell proposed to his fiancée Lauren Silverman, and the couple has yet to tie the knot. Cowell recently shared that he wants the wedding to be “spontaneous.”
Simon Cowell Opens Up About Wedding to Lauren Silverman
Cowell and Silverman went public with their relationship in 2013, and they welcomed son Eric in 2014. The couple got engaged over Christmas vacation in 2021. Earlier this year, Cowell told The Sun that he was “planning it all,” rather than using “one of these ghastly wedding planners.”
He added, “No one knows when it’s going to be — that’ll be a surprise, even for Lauren.”
In a new interview, Cowell makes it sound like even he might not know when the wedding will happen, as he explained to The Sun, “I like to make everything spontaneous, and doing that will make it a lot more fun. I don’t think we’ll be getting married in Las Vegas but whatever we do, it’ll be fun.”
There have been previous reports about when the wedding might take place. Earlier this year, Cowell’s friend Sinitta teased that it would take place in June. However, Cowell denied the rumors, saying people have even called asking why they weren’t invited. He had to tell them it was “because we haven’t planned it yet.”

Cowell Knows What Son Eric Will Be When He Grows Up
Cowell was recently a guest on the UK talk show Loose Women, where he talked about his 8-year-old son Eric, sharing that he’s “got a good idea of what he’s going to be when he’s older.” He added that Eric has “got his own opinion” and is “his own man, which is really, really important.”
The talent show judge also revealed that Eric helps him make decisions about America’s Got Talent. As Cowell explained, “When I watch the shows before they go out, and I’m kind of looking at Eric out of the corner of my eye, going ‘Does he like something? Does he not like something?’ and annoyingly he’s normally right.”
Cowell will soon be returning to the judging table for AGT: All-Stars, premiering Monday, January 2, at 8/7c on NBC.
