Earlier this year, Simon Cowell confirmed that he was engaged to longtime partner Lauren Silverman. The couple’s relationship became public in 2013, and they share a son named Eric. You might be wondering who Silverman is, and how she and Cowell got together.
Who Is Simon Cowell’s Fiancée Lauren Silverman?
Lauren Silverman is 44 years old. She grew up in Florida and attended Tufts University in Massachusetts. She’s known as a New York City socialite, and was previously married to Cowell’s friend Andrew Silverman, a real estate mogul. The couple shares a son together named Adam, who is 16.
Silverman doesn’t share much about herself online, having reportedly deleted her Instagram account in 2013, around the time news broke of her relationship with Cowell. Their romance began with some scandals, since Silverman was still married to her ex-husband, who cited adultery in the divorce.
The couple settled their divorce out of court in August 2013, at which time Silverman was pregnant with her and Cowell’s son. She gave birth to the baby, named Eric, on February 14, 2014. He’s now 8 years old. Shortly after Eric’s birth, Cowell expressed “regret” about the affair.
“But then of course you have a baby and you look at the baby and you kinda go ‘this is what happened from it’,” Cowell said, adding, “It is not something I am proud of or wanted to happen in terms of hurting anyone. It just happened.”

Cowell and Silverman Got Engaged Over Christmas
“I think Simon has changed me,” Silverman said in a 2015 interview. “He makes me laugh all the time. I can’t get angry with him because when I’m trying to be cross he just makes me laugh. I feel I learn so much from him, which is incredibly inspiring. He’s very talented.”
Cowell proposed to Silverman last Christmas Eve while on vacation in Barbados with their son Eric and Silverman’s son Adam. The engagement came as something of a shock, since Cowell is a longtime bachelor.
The pair hasn’t shared when the wedding will take place. There were rumors that they would tie the knot in June of this year, but that doesn’t seem to have happened. In April, Cowell said they won’t be using a wedding planner. Instead, he’s doing the planning himself.
