‘BGT’ Christmas Special Planned At ITV
The special is being described as a “Christmas celebration… featuring some of the greats of BGT.” All of the judges are meant to appear on the show, including Simon Cowell if he has recovered from his back injury in time.

A source told The Mirror, “Simon has not done Christmas before and ITV jumped at the chance to put Britain’s Got Talent at the very heart of their festive schedule. It does huge ratings, so why not unleash it at a different time of year to mix things up a bit.”
The source added of the nature of the special, “It will not be a competition as such but a celebration of the show.” The show will reportedly tape next month after the current BGT season comes to a close. ITV apparently hopes the special will boost seasonal ratings for the network in competition with the BBC.
Will Simon Cowell Be Healthy For The Christmas Special?
Simon Cowell is currently missing both AGT and BGT because of his injury. He recently broke his back falling off an electric bike, and had to have surgery. America’s Got Talent is moving along with three judges.

On Britain’s Got Talent, former winner Ashley Banjo is filling in for Simon as the fourth judge. If Simon isn’t well enough to appear on the Christmas special, The Mirror reports that Ashley might fill in there too. “It would be great if Simon could make it but if not, he has an able deputy,” the source said.
The timeline of Simon’s possible return to television has been up in the air, but his colleagues on both Got Talent shows are looking forward to having him back at some point.
