In a recent episode of her podcast, Oldish, Sharna Burgess, a professional dancer known for her performances on ABC’s hit show, Dancing With the Stars, revealed her shock and disappointment about not being invited back for Season 32. Burgess, who has graced the DWTS stage for 14 seasons expected to return to the competition but received an unexpected blow when she wasn’t included in the cast.

Sharna Burgess Shocked That She’s Not Invited Back to DWTS

In Burgess’s podcast, she not only explained her shock and disappointment, but expressed her love for DWTS and everyone involved. She also revealed her sadness and heartbreak at not being part of the upcoming season. She remains uncertain about her future with the show and whether she would return if asked for Season 33.

According to the professional dancer, she learned about her absence when fellow professional dancers on the show received their casting calls. Burgess also noted that the show’s representatives declined to comment on the situation. This leaves her without any official explanation for her exclusion.

“I realized when those spots were all filled, and I was like, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t get the call,'” Burgess said.

Despite the setback, she expressed that the most beautiful aspect of her journey on the show was that her last season allowed her to perform alongside Brian Austin Green. She reflected on the possibility that her final season on DWTS was one filled with love and connection.

Sharna Burgess Put Her Family First Resulting in Her Absence on The Show

Burgess’s absence from the previous season was not entirely voluntary. She had just given birth to her son, Zane, with partner Green, a mere eight weeks before the season’s premiere.

Understanding the importance of cherishing early moments with her newborn, Burgess decided to sit out Season 31. At the time, she kept the door open for Season 32 return. Despite expressing her eagerness to return to the show, Burgess revealed that she never received the anticipated call from producers.

For Burgess, her recent absence from the show was not the only difficult moment she faced during her DWTS journey. She reflected on the past five years as “rocky,” starting when a new executive producer took over. After her controversial win with Bones, she was not invited back for the following season. It ultimately left her caught up in a whirlwind of criticism.
