I knew that I was loved and I was supported at least in my home.”
Today, Shangela is a celebrated performer who has appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race, A Star is Born, and many other shows and movies. She also credits her grandmother with instilling in her the values of hard work, determination, and compassion, and helping her to overcome the challenges of her childhood.
