Shangela Calls Alfonso Ribeiro Out ON LIVE TV for ‘DWTS’ “Angela” Diss

Alfonso Ribeiro, Shangela, and Gleb Savchenko on 'Dancing With the Stars'

RuPaul’s Drag Race queen Shangela called Dancing With the Stars co-host Alfonso Ribeiro out on live tv for a recent diss. Instead of calling the queen by her name, Ribeiro slipped up last week and called her “Angela.” Although the drag queen acknowledged publicly that there was no hard feelings, she totally called Ribeiro out for his mistake.

Dancing With the Stars fans typically criticize Tyra Banks for messing up on live TV, but it turns out Ribeiro is capable of the same type of mistakes. The Mirrorball champion recently called drag queen Shangela, “Angela” on the show’s Bond Night.

This week, Shangela decided to call Ribeiro out on his mistake. After the host gave his opinion on their dance, the drag queen responded “the real question, did you learn my name?”

After the group laughed it off, and Ribeiro looked pretty uncomfortable, he apologized on air. This apology was clearly unplanned, it was very awkward to watch.

“Listen, I know, actually I wanted to say that the last couple of weeks I did accidentally say your name a couple of times wrong,” he said. “Now I did say Angela, which is my wife’s name, so it was a term of endearment.”

Shangela acknowledged that she loves Ribeiro, saying that he’s her “Alfondo.” The group then totally laughed it off. People who haven’t seen RuPaul’s Drag Race probably don’t understand that this is just Shangela’s personality. She clearly didn’t mean any harm by bringing the whole joke up.

The drag queen was previously seen talking about Ribeiro’s mistake on both Instagram and TikTok. On both platforms the situation was made into a lighthearted joke.
