See The First Photo Of The New ‘America’s Got Talent’ Judges On Set

The finale of America’s Got Talent: The Champions may have just aired a couple of weeks ago, but it’s time to start talking about the new regular season. Filming began on Sunday, and the show posted a photo of the new judges (and host) in action.
In case you hadn’t heard, judges Mel B and Heidi Klum have departed the show, and have been replaced by Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough. Tyra Banks will also not return to host the new season. Instead, Champions host Terry Crews is returning.
In a Twitter post showing the new panel posing together, America’s Got Talent encouraged fans to show love for Gabrielle and Julianne. Unfortunately, many of the replies are from people who are disappointed Mel B and Heidi won’t be returning.
Thankfully, returning judge Howie Mandel and host Terry Crews have been welcoming to the new ladies. They both posted the same photo on their Twitter accounts and welcomed them to the America’s Got Talent family.
Julianne Hough posted updates about her first day on Instagram Stories Sunday, beginning with a couple of videos cuddling in bed with her husband Brooks Laich. Brooks got her a bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion, and it looks like the show did as well.
Gabrielle also posted to Instagram Stories about her “new job,” shouting out everyone who was helping her get ready.
And don’t worry about Mel B, Heidi, and Tyra, as they’ve got work of their own lined up. As Good Housekeeping points out, Mel will be joining her fellow Spice Girls for a reunion tour around the UK this summer.
As for Heidi, she’ll be working on a new Amazon show with Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn, in addition to judging Germany’s Next Top Model. She posted a goodbye message on Twitter last month saying she’s had an “amazing” six years working on AGT and that she’ll be “watching and voting from home.”
Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that Tyra chose to leave the show in order to “produce and act more.” She told Access Hollywood in November that she has a “massive project” starting this year, adding that it’s “something that has never been done before.”
Although we’re sad to see Mel, Heidi, and Tyra leave, we’re interested to see what Gabrielle and Julianne bring to the table. It’ll be nice to get some fresh perspectives on the new talents.
Season 14 of America’s Got Talent will premiere sometime this summer.
