Scotty McCreery is Officially a Father! Meet Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi have officially announced the arrival of their son. The first time parents look absolutely thrilled in their newly release Instagram photos.
Scotty, Gabi McCreery Welcome First Child
On October 25, Scotty McCreery shared a heartfelt post in awe of the arrival of his first child. Within the post, he reveals that Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery arrived on October 24 at 4:43am. He was born 11 days ahead of his due date, weighing in at seven pounds, 13 oz.
Their son was reportedly named after his wife’s father, Merrick (Tre) Dugal III. Instead of going by Merrick, their son will go by Avery primarily.
“Thank y’all for all of your prayers during this exciting season of life! Healthy baby and a healthy mama! Praise God,” McCreery wrote.
Luckily, McCreery was already on his paternity leave when his wife went into labor in Raleigh, North Carolina. The singer is currently celebrating both the birth of his child and the release of his newest song “Small Town Story.”
The Couple Expected Their Son to Come Early
Earlier this month, McCreery revealed that his baby boy was coming sooner than initially expected. Originally, the McCreery’s expected their son’s arrival in November. In an early October ultrasound, the couple was told that their son was developing ahead of schedule, so he’ll be arriving much earlier than anticipated.
At the time, McCreery totally gushed over how excited he was to see his wife become a mom. He explained that she will be a caring and loving mother to their bundle of joy.
For those who may not know, McCreery married his wife Gabi Dugal, back in 2018 and they spent the first few years of marriage enjoying life together. The couple always talked about having kids and they decided now is the best time to expand the family.
From McCreery’s Instagram post alone, it’s clear that the couple is more than ready for this step. They look absolutely thrilled in the delivery room. We can’t wait to see more updates on Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery in the future.
