‘American Idol’ Winner Scotty McCreery Says His Son is ‘Coming Fast’

The hit country singer and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery excitedly shared news of his first child earlier this year. The soon-to-be dad’s baby boy is on the way and will come sooner than initially expected.
The singer married his wife Gabi Dugal, back in 2018 and they spent the first few years of marriage enjoying life together. The couple always talked about having kids and they decided now is the best time to expand the family.
Scotty McCreery’s First Child is Expected This Month
When McCreery and his wife announced the news back in June, they expected the baby to arrive by November. Now, it seems like the couple expects their child’s arrival in late October. Their latest ultrasound revealed that their son is developing ahead of schedule, so he’ll be arriving much earlier than anticipated. The couple has prepared their baby’s needs earlier in anticipation of any unexpected events during labor.
Along with building a nursery for their baby, McCreery’s wife recently had a Winnie the Pooh themed baby shower. The party reflected the couple’s hope that their baby will love reading Winnie the Pooh as much as they do.
McCreery is excited to be a father but is more excited to see his wife become a mom. He truly believes his wife will be the most caring and loving mother to their bundle of joy.
“It’s going to be the biggest blessing,” he said. “I can’t wait to teach this kid things. Get him on the ball field, play him some music, teach him guitar. We’ve already got a little music stand for him to play with. So yeah, we’re pumped.”
McCreery Celebrates His Fifth Consecutive No. 1 Single
The country singer’s 2021 George Strait tribute track “Damn Strait,” Hit number one on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The song was written by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins and is a tribute to country music legend George Strait.
The song also topped the MusicRow Country Radio Breakout Chart gaining more than 124 million streams. In celebration of the achievements he gained, McCreery’s friends and coworkers on his label gathered in Nashville.
McCreery took the chance to thank everyone who helped in making the song and everyone who supported him. “I’m looking forward to singing this song for many, many years to come,” McCreery said as he thanked the songwriters.
