Jinkx Monsoon, You’re A Winner Baby!
RuPaul’s Drag Race season five champion was crowned the “Queen of All Queens” on the final episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7. Jinkx makes history as the first queen to ever earn the RuPaul’s Drag Race crown twice.
Within the final episode, Jinkx battled it out against Monét X Change, Trinity the Tuck, and Shea Couleé in the LaLaPaRuZa Smackdown for the crown. Jinkx beat Shea after lip syncing “Judas” by Lady Gaga, and Monét beat Trinity the Tuck lip syncing to “So What” by P!nk. It was only right that Monét and Trinity were paired together since the queens share a crown.
Jinkx and Monét competed in the epic final lip sync for the $200,000 prize. Together, the queens put on a performance to “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Even though these queens gave the round their all, Jinkx came out successful.
“Drag is my passion and something I’ve dedicated more than half of my life to at this point,” Jinkx said while accepting the title. “I feel so grateful to be invited here, and I just hope to share the gifts that you’ve bestowed upon me and show them that we are all beautiful no matter who we are and how we present ourselves to the world.”
Jinkx accepted her second ever crown on behalf of “Hecate mother of witches.” Ahead of this episode, Jinkx earned four Legendary Legend Stars and a cash prize of $32,500.
Raja Wins The Title of “The Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses”
The remaining four queens battled it out in a LaLaPaRuZa Smackdown for the crown of their own. Their battle was for the title of “the queen of she done already done had herses.” The competition was insanely tight for this round of lip syncs.
Yvie Oddly beat The Vivienne lip syncing to “Push It” by Salt-N-Peppa, and Raja beat Jaida Essence Hall with “Let’s Hear it For The Boy” from Footloose. Yvie and Raja then were left to compete in the ultimate redemption showdown. In this round they lip synced to “Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves” by The Eurythmics ft. Aretha Franklin. Despite Yvie’s grand effort, Raja won the final lip sync. It’s absolutely insane that Raja was able to go home with a title, considering she hadn’t competed in nearly a decade .
“I’m so thankful to you, Ru,” Raja said after earning the title. “Ru, you know how much you mean to me. The trajectory that you made in my life? You’ve always been such a huge part of it. You’re an actual in my life. So thank you so much.”
Raja and Ru had a moment following, when RuPaul explained that he’s always been a fan of the season three champion. The end of the episode featured all the queens saying goodbye to their competitors and thanking not only RuPaul, but their fans for the constant support.
