Paula Abdul Gets Called Out For Allegedly Stealing a Design for Glasses

The release of Paula Abdul’s new Smart Audio Glass has been met with controversy as she’s currently accused of stealing the design. The accuser named Tommie Lee, expressed disappointment for the American Idol judge and has even posted a video showing how upset she is.
Tommie Lee Claims Paula Abdul Stole Glasses Design
Abdul attended a tech presentation held by the Pepcom PR firm on Wednesday night to launch Idol Eyes, Paula Abdul Signature Smart Audio Glasses. Lee, who also previously started her sunglass business Kilt Frames, said on Instagram that Abdul stole her “cat eye” sunglass design and that she is “disappointed and devastated,” over the situation.
One of the posts Lee made also referred to Paula Abdul as a “true loser,” for copying her concept. She insists the former American Idol judge copied her design to a tee and called it her own.
“I’m so upset y’all witnessed me in the field for years, creating these frames. Y’all have seen first-hand work I have put into kilt frames. For this Paula Abdul to steal my entire idea down to the look and everything is disgusting,” Lee said.
Lee’s ongoing beef with Abdul has escalated thanks to her Instagram Story which expressed her “discouraged” and “heartbroken,” state. Lee expressed that she’s at a disadvantage because she lacks the people or support network needed to promote her business. Abdul has yet to respond to Lee’s provocations, opting to stay quiet at the moment.
Who is Tommie Lee?
Lee is a model, rapper, and socialite who was born on June 19, 1987. She is a key cast member of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta seasons six and seven. She has been involved in a number of legal troubles since 2003, she’s been arrested at least once a year. Her allegations include identity fraud, shoplifting, disorderly conduct, forgery, violence, and theft. One of the instances also included a bus hijacking.
On a more personal side, Lee dated Scrapp DeLeon, and she has two daughters, Havali and Samari, from previous relationships. She gave birth to one of her daughters while imprisoned, according to Love & Hip Hop fans.
Her less-than-desirable background has kept the fans really skeptical of her and her accusations to Adbul. In her defense, she claimed that the company sold the idea behind her back to Paula Abdul, who launched the eyewear brand under a new name.
