Paramore Teases New Release After Deleting Social Media Posts

Paramore returned to social media on Wednesday to tease an upcoming new release. The band, who recently deleted all of their Instagram posts after becoming free agents, contributed a cover recording to the upcoming Talking Heads tribute album, Stop Making Sense.

Paramore Teases Upcoming Talking Heads Cover

According to People, A24 is releasing a tribute album to the band Talking Heads, following the recent re-release of their Stop Making Sense concert film for its 40th anniversary. The first track on the album will be by Paramore.

The band posted a teaser for the cover on Instagram Wednesday. This is their first new post since wiping their Instagram earlier this month. This was apparently due to the band becoming free agents after their 20-year deal with Atlantic Records ended.

The teaser shows a box being delivered to Paramore’s lead singer Hayley Williams. She opens it to reveal a version of Talking Heads frontman David Byrne’s famous oversized suit. The clip ends with a snippet of the band covering “Burning Down the House.”

The tribute album will apparently feature 16 tracks from 16 artists. A release date hasn’t been announced yet. The other artists featured on the project have not yet been announced.

Paramore Released an Album Last Year

Paramore released their most recent album, This Is Why, in February of last year. It featured the singles “This Is Why,” “The News,” “C’est Comme Ça,” and “Running Out of Time.” They embarked on a tour to support the album beginning in October of 2022.

In May, the band will join Taylor Swift as she brings her Eras Tour to Europe. Paramore will perform as an opening act on the tour through August, when Gracie Abrams will join Swift on her final North American tour dates.

Fans were concerned when Paramore recently canceled their upcoming appearance at the iHeartRadio ALTer EGO Fest on January 13 in Anaheim, due to “unforeseen circumstances.” However, this was apparently unrelated to their social media wipe and due to a genuine scheduling conflict.
