Even after a five-year hiatus, alternative rock band Paramore is proving that their music is no obsolete and rusty. They have recently been visible in the UK music charts, thus securing their third no. 1 album.
Paramore Celebrates Multiple No. 1s in UK Music Charts
Last February 10, the reunited trio of Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, and Taylor York released This Is Why, their first album since 2017. British fans have obviously missed the band, as reflected by its current placements on the music charts.
Impressively, the album ranked first in four categories. These include Alternative Album, Rock Album, Album Sales, Vinyl Album, and Digital Album. Meanwhile, it peaked at No. 2 in the Billboard 200.
Having reached this milestone, Paramore went to Instagram to celebrate their accomplishments. They shared a photo which seemed to be screenshot of a message that enumerates the ranks of album in the charts. According to the band, getting there was “bananas.”
“We know enough by now to know success doesn’t equal value. That being said, to experience the #1’s (and a #2 between Sza and Taylor Swift) on this album, as this version of Paramore, is such a sweet and surreal moment to celebrate together,” the caption reads. “Thank you for loving the band as much as we do.”
Years ago, Paramore topped the Official Albums Chart with their 2009 music collection Brand New Eyes. The second time they did was back in 2013, when they put out Paramore. Essentially, This Is Why is the third time that they have secured the same success.
Fans Praise Them For The Milestone
Evidently, fans are thrilled to be listening to this new era of Paramore. One supporter even described the trio as “the most important band of our lifetime.” Furthermore, another one mentioned how Paramore has helped them cope throughout the years.
“Thank you for putting my difficult emotions into words, listening to the new album feels like you were living my life for the past few years,” a fan wrote.
Currently, the title track has reached over 42 million plays. “The News,” on the other hand, has reached more than 13 million plays. A week ago, the band has released the official music video of one song in the tracklist, “Running Out Of Time.”
