Liam Payne Talks About 100-Day Rehab Stay
The singer revealed that he spent 100 days at a rehab facility in Louisiana and is almost six months sober now. Payne shared that his 2022 interview on Logan Paul’s podcast, in which he spoke negatively about his One Direction bandmates, made him realize he needed to change.
“I kind of became somebody who I didn’t really recognize anymore, and I’m sure you guys didn’t either,” Payne told his fans, explaining, “I was so angry at what was going on around me, and instead of taking a look inwards I decided to look outwards at everybody else.”
Payne said this was caused by “my own frustrations with my own career.” He apologized for his behavior, saying, “There is a point when you hit rock bottom and you realize you have got to do something different as whatever you are doing right now isn’t working for you.”
The singer said his bandmates “have really stuck by me” and “came to my rescue.” He called his Logan Paul interview “one of those life-changing moments that saved my life in a way.”

Payne Says Alcohol ‘Isn’t Serving Me at All’
In his video, Payne also talks about the last time he had a drink, sharing that he was at a Hans Zimmer concert with a friend in Dubai. The singer chose not to finish his drink when he realized “this just isn’t serving me at all.”
“I definitely don’t need those things anymore,” Payne said of getting sober. “Party’s over.”
The singer told fans that he’s “trying to learn to get to know this new guy.” Part of that is getting back on stage, as he’s gearing up to tour South America in September of this year. Payne admitted that he’s “a little bit” scared about getting back to performing.
