Nightbirde’s “It’s OK” Is Submitted The “Song for Social Change” Grammy Award

On October 18, Nightbirde’s family revealed that “It’s OK” is now submitted for the Grammy Award for “Song For Social Change.” The news came along with a touching video of the deceased singer performing it in a recording studio.

After rising to fame on America’s Got Talent, Nightbirde’s hit “It’s OK” had an impact on listeners around the world. This song offers encouragement to those facing any type of adversity. On top of the song’s meaning, Nightbirde’s cancer journey made her a powerful symbol of both hope and resilience. For those who may not know, Nightbirde passed away on February 19, 2022.

In the video’s caption, the singer’s team shared a glimpse into her thoughts and aspirations. They revealed that she had recorded multiple versions of her Grammy speech and had been diligently journaling her thoughts.

In her recorded speech, Nightbirde reflects on her hope, a hope that never wavered, even in the face of hardship. She clung to that hope despite repeated setbacks, and it always found a way to return.

“‘It’s OK’ has been a ray of hope that has touched the hearts of people from every corner of the globe,” her family wrote. “The decision to submit ‘It’s OK’ for the ‘Song for Social Change’ Grammy award is certainly a fitting tribute to Nightbirde’s enduring impact.”
