Nick Cannon Releases New Album, Raw & B
Cannon’s return to R&B came as no surprise to fans since he had been releasing new music since the beginning of 2022. Earlier this year, fans of the singer saw the release of “Don’t Need Em,” “Eyes Closed,” “Weekend Girl,” and “My Pimpin” featuring ItsAMovie. These tracks released earlier this year are seen as part of the new album.
This singer proves that there’s more than what meets the eye in this release. While many think the tracks are simply about the singer’s sexual experiences, there’s actually a deeper narrative. Each song tells a story related to Cannon’s current position in life.
“This is the gospel of my broken soul,” Cannon said about the new album. “This is as real as it gets.”
Most of the tracks on this album feature Cannon alongside other artists like Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. Even though there are other artists with Cannon on the album, his voice shines within each song. The entire album has a laid back, yet energetic mood. Raw & B The Explicit Tape is easy to listen to, it makes you want to get up and dance.
Ahead of Raw & B, Cannon released heartfelt single, “Alone,” which is reportedly about his ex wife, Mariah Carey. While The Masked Singer host has openly said that the release of this track was not intended to get Carey’s attention.
Even though this single isn’t seen within the album, there’s a similar theme within the tracks. Many of the tracks give listeners a glimpse at Cannon’s point in life. Even though some songs are more serious than others, his personal story line is heard within each track.
