The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon has released a new music video for his song “Eyes Closed.” This intimate music video confirms that his recent “engagement photos” were totally fake. He proposes to a woman in the video.
Nick Cannon Releases Music Video for ‘Eyes Closed’
Last week, Cannon posted photos on Instagram showing him embracing a mystery woman and presenting her with a diamond ring. As he wrote in the caption, “I said I would never do it again but…Finally doing what the world wants me to do.”
Fans were skeptical about this being a real engagement, and speculated it could be for a movie or music video. Confirmation came as soon as Cannon released the music video for his song “Eyes Closed.” The clip shows his proposal, intercut with shots of him playing piano at a wedding.
Cannon kept up the ruse, telling fans, “What the world has been waiting for…watch my engagement video exclusively on Facebook!” This time, he tagged the mystery woman as model and beauty queen Génesis Dávila.
The star also told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m doing what the world wants me to do, I’m dropping an amazing music video.”
Cannon was previously married to Mariah Carey, with whom he shares two children. He recently described their relationship as “like a fairy tale” and said he’ll never have another love like that with anyone else.
However, Cannon isn’t ruling out another marriage, as he told ET, “I love the idea of marriage, especially the ceremony, the proposing, the idea of just falling in love. Who cares what the rest of the world thinks? You never know.”
The question, of course, is who the star would choose to marry. Cannon is currently expecting his eighth child with Bre Tiesi, but they’re not monogamous. He’s welcomed children with four other women.
“That’s a big step, especially [with] all that I got going on in my life, just the hint of it shocked the world,” Cannon said of getting married again, adding that he would have to “be really ready and prepared.”
