Netflix Teases Sofia Vergara Series Griselda
Netflix has shared a new poster for Griselda, which shows a closeup of Vergara’s nose and lips as she folds her hands in front of her. She wears an opulent ring on one finger, and her pinky nail appears to have cocaine on it.
In the new series, Vergara plays Griselda Blanco. Netflix’s post describes the real-life figure as “a woman who rose from obscurity to become ‘the Godmother’ of the underworld.” The post adds, “Witness her lethal blend of charm and ruthlessness in this captivating series. Coming soon to Netflix.”
The service has yet to announce a release date for the project, but the poster does make it clear that this will be a limited series. Vergara’s casting was announced in 2021, and filming took place last year, so fans have been waiting to see this series for quite some time now.

Vergara Is an Executive Producer on the Series
Not only is Vergara starring in the series as Blanco, but she’s also an executive producer. In a statement, Vergara described Blanco as “a larger-than-life character whose ruthless but ingenious tactics allowed her to rule a billion dollar empire years before many of the most notorious male kingpins we know so much about.”
Griselda will also mark the acting debut of Colombian singer Karol G, who told Billboard that she’s playing Carla, one of Blanco’s drug mules. She called it “a great role because there’s real character development.”
The singer said of her character, “She sees what she does as a job, but also as a way to maintain her family, and she’s tough! She reaches another level.”
